The Works of Simeon Sheef

Undeserving

Innocence, a state of perfection and bliss.
Innocence would never deserve any of this.
Yet innocence hangs from a tree on a hill.
An innocent man who would never lie, never kill.
They place on his head a headdress adorned
Not with jewels or with diamonds,
but with red painted thorns.

Here, innocence meets murder.

Joining the Dance

Each step of the dance is bright
I feel the music and hear the light
The flutter of wings
It soars and flies
How the angel sings
It jumps and glides
Its eyes glows green
With the purest sheen
The dove looks at me and says hello
I reply…“Just don’t let me go.”

Progression

In the beginning, light, the present, running, fall leaves, paths in the garden, warmth, sparkling water, colorful birds, bare trees, the sun, strange, dark spot, eclipse? , slow, time, motionless, people staring, the moon, fire, light, asteroid, too bright, running, screaming, death, burning, ashes, Armageddon, coughing, stumbling, brimstone, fire from heaven, regrets, darkness, the end.

Love's Fate

Love flew through the open blue
The clouds had gone and Love was lost.
So many stars in the black sky above
And one bright beauty,
The Moon.
Love knew the Sun would return,
But the other lights seemed so inviting.
Forgetting the Suns warmth,
Love turned to the falling Moon and unreachable stars.
Darkness.

"History According to Him" or "Everybody, Just Shut Up!"

Silence...

I spoke
He complained
It lied
She manipulated
He confessed

They slandered
They wailed
They babbled

We talked
He asked
I answered
I corrected
They praised
They prophesied

He spoke the truth
They conspired
He thanked
He shouted
He forgave
It whispers

They spread the news
They’ll be silenced
And I’ll call them home
